If you are just beginning your Invisalign® journey, you may have questions about how the treatment fits into your life. Invisalign® aligners are clear and removable, which makes them a great tool for getting the smile you want, but you should be aware of how your treatment plan will affect your budget and activities.
Treatment plans vary based on the issues you are trying to resolve. Some patients can be done in as little as six months, but more complex cases can take years. Your dentist will be tracking your progress as you move through your treatment plan to ensure that your teeth are moving as expected.
If you have dental insurance and only see your dentist for cleanings, you may not be paying at each visit. On many dental plans, preventative procedures like cleanings are free to patients. With Invisalign®, having orthodontic coverage will vary from plan to plan. Some plans have orthodontic coverage for children and teenagers up to a certain age while others have adult coverage. If your plan has adult orthodontic coverage, then it will usually cover up to 60% of the total cost if not more. These orthodontic benefits can be used only for Invisalign® and do not apply to your annual deductible. For any remaining portions, ask your dentist if they offer in-house payment plans in house and/or third-party financing.
In addition to payment plans, some dentists will offer discounts or additional services with your Invisalign® plan.
If you're apprehensive about getting Invisalign®, having an experienced dentist walk you through the process can go a long way to making you more confident in the treatment. Invisalign® has provider designations called tiers, ranging from Bronze to Diamond Plus, that tell you how many Invisalign® patients a dentist has worked with.
