Invisalign® in Sterling, VA

Serving Potomac, Ashburn and Beyond

One of the greatest benefits that these aligners have is that they are nearly transparent. Braces and metal aligners come with their fair share of negative aesthetic and social impacts. For a more convenient, less visible option, Invisalign® clear aligners are available at our dental office. Invisalign® uses the same techniques as traditional metal braces without being as visibly bothersome or physically irritating. Like traditional orthodontics, Invisalign® clear aligners can be used to correct crowding, open bites, gaps between teeth, overbites, crossbites, and underbites. And unlike traditional orthodontics, Invisalign® clear aligners are removable so you do not have to make changes to your lifestyle habits, worry about aesthetics, or refrain from eating or chewing foods you enjoy.

Invisalign® clear aligners are a great option for patients in a hurry. After the initial consultation, Invisalign® clear aligners will be sent to you according to your custom treatment plan. Requiring check-ups only once every six weeks or so, they are much more convenient and less demanding than traditional orthodontics.

Benefits of Invisalign®

Some notable benefits of choosing Invisalign® over other traditional methods of teeth straightening include:

Virtually Invisible Design: The clear aligners are discreet and do not draw attention, unlike metal braces.

Removability: You can take them out to eat, drink, brush, and floss, offering greater convenience and flexibility.

Enhanced Comfort: Made of smooth plastic, Invisalign® aligners are less likely to cause mouth irritation or sores.

No Dietary Restrictions: Unlike braces, there’s no need to avoid certain foods—just remove the aligners while eating.

Fewer Office Visits: Invisalign® typically requires less frequent adjustments, saving you time.

Improved Oral Hygiene: Since the aligners are removable, you can maintain your regular brushing and flossing routine, reducing the risk of cavities and gum issues.

The Invisalign® Process

At your consultation with us, our expert dental team will ensure that Invisalign® clear aligners are a suitable treatment option for you and discuss alternative procedures if they are not. A scan will be taken of your teeth to create your individualized treatment plan. You will be given an approximation of how long your treatment plan will take and what your teeth should look like.

The scanner used for the Invisalign® procedure to create a custom treatment plan is the iTero 3D scanner. This scanner produces detailed and high-resolution interactive images in just minutes. Using this technology, you can have aligners created with a better fit and less chance of the need for redos. There is also no impression taken or the need to make a mold, which means that there is no goop or mess and no gagging. Part of the technology is the Invisalign® Outcome Simulator, which can give you a preview of your new smile before you begin treatment. With the Invisalign® Progress Assessment tool, you’ll be able to check on your progress at every check-up visit.

Once you receive the clear aligners, replacements will be given every few weeks to help gradually move your teeth into the right place. You should have your teeth and aligners checked every six weeks at our dental office to see if adjustments are necessary.

How Long Does Invisalign® Take?

The length of Invisalign® treatment varies depending on the complexity of your case and the specific alignment issues being addressed. On average, most patients complete their treatment in 12 to 18 months, though some minor adjustments can be achieved in as little as 6 months. Factors like the severity of misalignment, adherence to wearing the aligners for the recommended 20 to 22 hours per day, and the treatment goals will influence the overall timeline. During your initial consultation, your dentist will provide a personalized estimate based on your unique needs. Regular progress check-ups every 4 to 6 weeks help ensure that your treatment stays on track, resulting in a beautifully aligned smile.

Cost of Invisalign®

We believe a beautiful new smile is priceless, but we understand that it needs to fit in your budget! The Invisalign® system costs $5500, but patients may pay a different out-of-pocket cost depending on their individual needs and insurance coverage. At WestLake Dental Care, your Invisalign® treatment includes retention, whitening and all records such as X-rays, scans, pictures, etc. It also includes teeth whitening at our office FOR LIFE! To get an accurate idea of what Invisalign® may cost for you, get in touch with our team today.

Is Invisalign® Worth It?

For many patients, Invisalign® is absolutely worth it. The clear aligners offer a discreet, comfortable, and convenient way to achieve a straighter smile without the hassle of traditional braces. While the cost may be higher than some alternatives, the benefits—such as improved oral health, fewer restrictions, and enhanced confidence—make it a valuable investment in your long-term dental and personal wellbeing. Plus, the flexibility and efficiency of Invisalign® often make the treatment experience more enjoyable.
