FULL-MOUTH RECONSTRUCTION

Transformation in one visit

Is a Full Arch the Right Call for You?

Dr. Tarek Badawy — FAGD · ICOI Fellow (implant credential) · Invisalign Gold · Seattle Study Club member · 20+ years placing implants, including bone grafting and full-arch cases · independent practice in Sterling since 2019.

We’ve rebuilt full arches for patients who were told elsewhere it couldn’t be done. If you’ve had a “no,” it’s worth a second look.

Your Full-Arch Options: All-on-4, All-on-X, and Zirconia Explained

There isn't one solution — the right one depends on your bone, bite, and goals.

Full-mouth implants are for people missing most or all of their teeth on a jaw — or headed there with teeth that keep failing. If you’re tired of a denture that moves, embarrassed to eat in front of people, or done with the cycle of one more tooth at a time, this is the conversation to have.

The reason Dr. Tarek does this work is the moment a patient sees themselves differently. One man hadn’t smiled since he was six years old; when the temporary teeth went in and he looked in the mirror, he went quiet and teary before he’d said a word. Another patient was so afraid of the dentist she couldn’t walk through the door; she finished a full plan and now comes in regularly and jokes with the team. Same turn, two people: the point where they stopped working around their teeth and started living without thinking about them.

You may not be a candidate today, and that’s a real answer too. Bone, gum health, and your bite all factor in. The consult is where Dr. Tarek tells you straight — including if the honest answer is “not yet” or “here’s what has to happen first.”

Teeth in a Day in Sterling, VA — Same-Day Implant Placement

Who's a candidate — and what surgery day looks like

“Teeth in a day” sounds like marketing, so here’s what it actually means. For many full-arch patients, on the day we place the implants we also place a fixed set of temporary teeth — the same day. You don’t go home without teeth and wait months to function.

Same-day teeth depend on having enough stable bone to anchor the implants firmly enough to load right away. Many full-arch patients qualify; some need bone grafting or healing time first, and for those it’s a staged plan instead. Dr. Tarek tells you which path you’re on at the consult — he doesn’t promise same-day teeth before he’s seen your scans.

On procedure day we remove any failing teeth, place the implants, and fit your temporary arch the same visit. You leave with teeth that day. Over the following months the implants integrate, and once healed we place your final arch — often a zirconia arch for the most durable result. Same-day full arches are most often done as an All-on-4.

A Word From Dr. Tarek

There isn’t one full-arch solution — there are a few, and the right one depends on your bone, your bite, and what you want the final teeth to feel like.

All-on-4. A full arch of fixed teeth supported by four implants — for many patients the most direct path to teeth that don’t come out, often placed with a same-day temporary set. Read more about All-on-4.

All-on-X. The same fixed-arch idea with more implants — five, six, sometimes more — when your case calls for extra support or a heavier bite load.

Zirconia full arch. A full-arch bridge made from solid zirconia instead of acrylic — stronger, stain-resistant, more natural over time. Monolithic zirconia is the most commonly placed final restoration at Westlake. See zirconia full-arch implants.

About the implants themselves. Dr. Tarek works with TRI (Swiss-made, no separate abutment component), BioHorizons (American-made; the only system with Laser-Lok technology, which promotes soft-tissue attachment directly to the implant), and Nobel Pearl (all-ceramic, for patients with a thin tissue type where ceramic handles gum health and appearance particularly well). He matches the option to your mouth at the consult — you don’t have to pick today.

Timeline and Recovery: From Consultation to Final Smile

Full-arch treatment is a process, not a single appointment.

1. Consultation and 3D planning. We scan, take a CT, and map out the case. You leave knowing your options and a real cost figure.

2. Surgery day. Any remaining failing teeth come out, implants are placed, and in many cases a fixed temporary set goes in the same day. You typically don’t leave without teeth.

3. Healing. Over the following months the implants integrate with the bone. You function on temporaries and we see you for checks.

4. Final teeth. Once healed and integrated, we place your final arch — fitted to your bite and how you want it to look.

Most full-arch cases run several months from surgery to final teeth; bone grafting adds time. We tell you which path you’re on before you commit. Actual timeline depends on your specific case.

Financing Your Full Arch

Full-arch implant treatment is a real investment, and we’d rather be straight about that than dance around it. We offer monthly payment plans and work with major financing partners so the cost can be spread out instead of paid all at once. If you’re paying out of pocket, our Membership Club can also help on the routine-care side.

Ask about our starting price at your consult — the honest number depends on your case, and monthly payment plans can bring it down to a manageable monthly figure depending on the plan you qualify for.

Warranty. Full-arch implant work at Westlake carries a 5-year warranty covering material failure. It applies to patients who complete the recommended 6-month Care & Cleaning visits. It does not apply to patients who smoke, patients with uncontrolled diabetes, or patients who skip the follow-up schedule — conditions that affect healing and long-term implant stability.

Most dental plans cover only a portion of implant treatment, if any — full-arch work is usually largely out of pocket. We check your coverage, tell you exactly what it reaches, and build the financing around the real number. See Dental Implant Financing. Estimates vary; we provide a detailed quote after assessment.

Full Mouth Implant Questions, Answered

Most full-arch cases run several months from surgery day to final teeth, because the implants need time to integrate with your bone. Bone grafting adds time. In many cases you get a fixed temporary set the same day as surgery, so you're not without teeth while you heal. Dr. Tarek gives you a real timeline at the consult once he's seen your scans.

Usually no. For many full-arch patients we place a fixed temporary set the same day, so you walk out with teeth. Whether that applies to you depends on your bone and bite, which we confirm during planning.

All-on-4 uses four implants to support a full fixed arch. All-on-X uses more implants when your case needs extra support. Zirconia refers to the material of the final teeth — a solid, durable, natural-looking option compared to acrylic. The right combination depends on your case; Dr. Tarek matches it to your mouth at the consult.

Cost depends on how many implants you need, whether you need bone grafting, and the final material. It varies by case — ask at your consult, where we give you a real, specific number, not a guess online. We offer monthly payment plans plus major financing partners. Estimates vary; we provide a detailed quote after assessment.

Not necessarily. We've rebuilt full arches for patients told no elsewhere, often because bone grafting wasn't on the table where they were seen. It's worth a second opinion. Bring any scans or notes and Dr. Tarek gives you a straight answer.

Yes. Dr. Tarek plans and places these cases himself at Westlake in Sterling. You're not handed off between offices for surgery and restoration — the same dentist sees it through from planning to final teeth.

Usually only a small portion, if any — full-arch treatment is largely out of pocket for most patients. We check your specific coverage, tell you exactly what it reaches, and build a monthly payment plan around the real out-of-pocket number so it's spread out instead of paid all at once.

I’ve had excellent care for years. Dr. T is great at explaining everything, making it less stressful, and making sure you feel comfortable. Everyone is friendly and service is prompt. I would recommend Westlake Dental Care to anyone.
