Dental Flippers in Sterling, VA

Low-Cost Dental Implants Alternative

Missing teeth is not a rare occurrence. Dental patients typically lose teeth due to tooth decay, removal, injury, or accidents. Fortunately, at WestLake Dental Care, we offer patients services to help them fill the gaps and ensure that they maintain a beautiful, natural smile. One of the ways to restore the appearance of missing teeth is by using dental flippers. Learn more about this dental restoration and whether or not it’s the right solution for you!

Procedure Details:

Overview of Dental Flippers

A dental flipper is a partial denture with one or more prosthetic teeth. The material that the flippers are made of is denture acrylic resin, which resembles the natural teeth. The flippers are removable and attached to the teeth using metal clasps similar to those of a retainer.

Should I Get Dental Flippers?

In most cases, you may require dental flippers as a temporary solution if you are waiting for permanent solutions, such as a dental implant or a fixed bridge. However, if you are not a good candidate for a dental implant or a fixed bridge, a dental flipper may be your only option. Using dental flippers has some benefits, including:

They are relatively more affordable than other options.

They are easy to use.

They do not take long to customize, so you will get them quickly.

They appear more natural than some other solutions.

Our Dental Flippers Procedure

When you come to our office in search of the right dental restoration for you, we’ll discuss your options and help you land on the treatment that will fit you best. Our procedure for providing patients with dental flippers is fairly straightforward.

First, you’ll book an appointment with us.

Next, one of our dentists takes an impression of your mouth and sends it to the laboratory.

The laboratory uses the impression to customize the flipper to fit your mouth and fill in any missing teeth. Then, you’ll come back for a second appointment so that we can check the fit and make any necessary adjustments.

Caring for Your Dental Flippers

Taking proper care of your dental flippers is necessary, as it helps the flipper last longer and prevents it from becoming loose or uncomfortable. You can take care of the flipper by:

Cleaning it using a soft-bristle brush, warm water, and soap.

Keeping it moist when you are not using it.

Ensuring that you brush and floss your teeth regularly.
