Meet Dr. Rachel Kogan
Dr. Kogan is part of the clinical team at Westlake Dental Care. Guests see her for general and family dentistry: cleanings, exams, fillings, and the everyday care that keeps a smile out of trouble before it needs a bigger fix.
She works alongside Dr. Tarek with the same approach: explain the why before the what, give a conversation the time it actually needs, and never rush a decision that’s going to sit in someone’s mouth for years.

Dr. Kogan earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stony Brook University, with a concentration in neuroscience and a minor in anthropology. She graduated magna cum laude, then went on to earn her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Pennsylvania. From there she completed a General Practice Residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
A General Practice Residency is hospital-based training
It trains dentists to treat patients whose care is more complicated than a routine cleaning. Another health condition may be in the mix, or the case arrives through the emergency room.
That’s the training Dr. Kogan brings into every visit at Westlake. She treats what’s in front of her as part of a person’s whole health, not a problem on its own.

Every visit at Westlake starts with a conversation, and Dr. Kogan’s are no different. She wants to know what’s actually bothering you. From there she walks through what she’s seeing and what she’d recommend, in plain language you won’t need translated.
Kids, first-time guests, and anyone who’s had a rough experience with dentistry elsewhere are all welcome in her chair. Comfortable and unhurried is how every visit at Westlake gets built, hers included.

- Options, not one prescribed path. If something can wait and watch, she’ll say so
- If it needs attention now, she’ll tell you why, and what happens if it’s left alone

Westlake Dental Care is independently owned by Dr. Tarek, not part of a dental service organization answering to a growth target. That independence reaches every dentist on the team, Dr. Kogan included: treatment decisions get made in the room, based on what’s actually in front of her.
She and Dr. Tarek coordinate on shared guests, so nothing falls through the cracks between general care and any implant, Invisalign, or smile design work happening at the same practice. And for guests without insurance, the Membership Club covers the basics Dr. Kogan handles most.
